The Color of The Year
In one month Pantone will announce the color of the year. What does it mean? Is it really important? It means that it is the color that people are feeling more connected to now. And our choice is the red, the color of life, strength, empowerment, relationships, love. It’s an evolution of the Millennium Pink, the women voice, the political polarization and many things that are happening in the world now. And also a color that many designers have chosen to use in their collections. Red is also related to many Art exhibitions, such as Rei Kawakubo’s at The Met. All of these are together in what we call a movement or a behavior trend.
Talking about clothes, red is a terrific choice to wear and get noticed, even in small accents. And if you think that red might not be a good color for you, there are plenty of different tons of red, from the warmest to the coolest, including the watermelon red that looks great in everyone’s complexion.
Besides the red, we are paying attention to lilac and purple, colors that represent both spirituality and technology, yellow that is a vibrant color that is related to positiveness, and white that is obviously connected with peace. But this one, our bet is not for now, maybe next year.
